Washington D.C. Trip
October 8, 2008

Hi guys,

Here’s a quick summary of my trip to Washington D.C. for the YouthAIDS Gala. It was such an amazing experience! It was my first time being involved with this charity and it was very educational. YouthAIDS is definitely something that I’m looking forward to being more involved with in the future, particularly their global “Five and Alive” program for kids, since I’m very committed to BCGA in the US. It was very moving and inspiring to hear the speeches of Bob Geldof, Ashley Judd and Judy McGrath and I hope to learn more about their experiences. The event itself was very entertaining, as the kids of the Urban Nation H.I.P-H.O.P. Choir performed and John Mellencamp closed the gala with a solo performance! I also got to see Sharon Osbourne; I’ve met her a few times before and she’s always great fun! Dayana Mendoza, Miss Universe 2008, was very nice and beautiful in person, which I guess she’d have to be to be Miss Universe!

As you guys know, my next trip will be this weekend to Atlanta, GA for WTT’s Smash Hits. I’m excited to be participating for my 6th year in a row and very excited to catch up with Billie Jean King and Elton John. I always have a blast at Smash Hits and hopefully my team will win this year! If you live in the Atlanta area, please come out and support the event, it’s for a great cause!

See you soon,
Anna
